I've lost count of how many times folx have said to me "everyone who wants a vaccine in America can easily get one." That's not true. There are major disparities in who has access. One example: I know 3 people who want to be vaxxed but their employer won't let them take time off.

City-run vax sites now take 2nd dose walk-ups. Anyone who lives, works, or studies in NYC can show up to these locations without an appointment. You can get the 2nd shot at a city site even if you got the 1st shot elsewhere. List of walk-up sites here:

I get ANGRY seeing this. Every building, every block, every community: Engaging, listening, planning. The next mile of Covid vaccination will require micro planning and meticulous implementation. NYC can do better when public health leads the way.

Officially booked over 1,000 appointments for the Covid Vaccine, most of them in NY, some in NJ and CA, and overseas as well (France) over the past 3 months. Thank you for making it much easier.

I've been vaccine scheduling & today we canvassed 8 blocks of businesses in Sunset Park, making appointments on the spot from our phones for people working in food trucks, laundromats, bodegas, barber shops. If you're vaccinated & can, do outreach. People want appts & need access

I treated many really sick Covid-19 patients today. All wanted to get vaccinated but didn’t know how to navigate appointments, transportation. Might sound easy, but for many, it’s not. Expanding eligibility doesn’t always mean accessibility, especially for the most vulnerable.
