I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

Google has started asking me if businesses I visit are wheelchair accessible. Which is kind of good? But why is that information missing in the first place. Businesses should be responsible for that.

Agreed, but business's idea of accessibility doesn't always match wheelchair users experience of accessibility.

Yeah, it's in a business's interest to veer on the side of saying 'yes', and besides, most businesses have more customers than employees, which increases the odds of people making accurate reports.
