  2. We wanted to launch it onto Sullivans Creek so it could make its way to the ocean via Lake Burley Griffin but the drought has reduced the creek to a slimy trickle so we had to improvise with paddling pools.

  3. Our Christmas tree-tree-tree got an Honourable Mention at deco awards – a tree of ‘tree’ in Ngumpin-Yapa languages. Thanks to Felicity Meakins & colleagues for supplying words - looking forward to another year of collaboration btw evolutionary biologists & linguists

I *highly* recommend An Introduction to Molecular Evolution and Phylogenetics by Lindell Bromham for a very readable overview of the field. It's non-technical & a fantastic companion to the Molecular Evolution: A Statistical Approach book by Z. Yang that recommended.

Our new textbook gives students, researchers & others an intro to macroevolution, macroecology, and big-picture conservation. Its about questions more than answers - how do you frame a good question to study biodiversity at the macro-scale?
