yes was gonna say, I saw the correction but it seemed like a silly mistake. But happy to know if the paper is wrong.

— it seems correct (w/ correction), but it's a constructed case that uses the properties of a logarithm under uniform binning (i.e. it compresses higher values into fewer bins and lower ones are spread among several bins). It also depends on there being a cutoff.
