All these people are pieces of shit, but that guy in particular is an obvious larp as well as a piece of shit.

Why do you think young larpers in particular have such a gravitation to esoteric topics and especially De Prado? Like I like reading and talking about the stuff, but literally no pro I've talked to or seen has a good opinion of it.

And De Prado was such a flop at AQR. Just zero IP and left in disgrace (with a lot of money).

AQR was flailing after a slide in performance. So Cliff (who sucks) decides to import a brand name machine learning hired gun for lots of money and no due diligence. This was supposed to encourage investors.. but the IP was like six lines of bad code. Woops!

DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THE SIX LINES PART. REMEMBER SEEING THAT AQR KEPT IP WHEN HE LEFT. SEEMED LIKE A LOT OF DRAMA.

the buying the IP stuff was all BS to let him save face as part of his severance. none of that hierarchical risk parity crap is used.

I can only imagine they hadn’t read his book, because no one with a brain could possibly read it and come away thinking “yeah I need to hire this guy.”
