I don't get how so many Americans don't know other languages. Like, dude it's just a rulebook. You just gotta know what the words are and where they go.

I actually turn the coding vs 2nd language thing the other way. Some ppl who feel they are “poets”instead of “quants” & thus can’t code. Well, if you can learn French to enjoy the literature/culture, you can learn to code.

I think a key difference is that learning an intermediate amount of Python just isn’t the same amount of words as an intermediate amount of French
