      But they expect to make money every day. They're running a business, salaries to pay, servers to run etc. They don't want to trade these icky edges. It's not their business. You've just eliminated some of the best out there.

      Next if you move in spaces where large amounts of capital can't be deployed you're eliminating the largest most sophisticated institutional players. Now you're talking a potentially real and sustainable edge.

      However, for most, the financially optimal strategy is to get the best paying job they can and be a long term passive index investor. Utility and enjoyment can of course change this.

      Simple numbers - if you can outperform the market by 10% a year you need 1m of capital to make 100k a year 'income'. That 10% is hard to do. You will also not get rich trading actively as a professional individual. Without a large existing bankroll.

      If the aim is to get rich from markets you're better off with a job & just taking a small part of your asset allocation and gambling it on stuff you think/hope will go parabolic & hold the whole way, start a business, or even easier just inherit. Easiest become a macro trader
