I would never trust the judgment of anyone who unironically believed (or cynically promoted) the GameStop trade a year ago, as an anti-Wall Street, populist phenomenon.

This is a fair distinction, and it obviously marked an important shift in how people see retail investors. Though a year later, it's still hard to see what's come of it. What has the populist element/narrative gotten the public substantively
The shift in narrative in terms of how retail are talked about has, if anything, shifted more towards the “retail are dumb flow” angle.
