What's wrong with suggesting to use shared memory? Put c routines in a dll that loads the file and write into your numpy buffers. If she's that good maybe we can learn something by her explaining why this doesn't work because theoretically that should be the fastest way.

This is an underrated tweet. A key attribute of a good programmer is realizing there are many ppl better than you that you can learn from. Gender, color, sexuality shouldn't be a factor. That's why my lame business-software-programming-ass can call myself a good programmer.
