apart from FX traders and VCs. everything they say about them is true

Academic smarts definitely go low -> high in the order I listed them, but I'd say that was almost entirely unrelated to ability to make money.

There is a threshold function, be at least as smart as x, then the correlation of smart and rich is much less clear. There is a ton of luck/ right time and place. *Some of* the most successful traders I’ve known were, in fact, very smart.
