“I want my kids to go to school because having them at home 24/7 is inconvenient and frankly quite annoying” doesn’t seem like it should be a controversial take. And yet.

Plenty of other good reasons. Social life and mental health for one. Kids shouldn't be stuck at home looking at their laptops for 6 hours a day.
Sure, I didn’t say there aren’t other good reasons. Just that this one is fine and no one should be shamed for it.

One of the reasons I left teaching years ago... I figured out that parents wanted me to teach their kids secondary maths and babysit them, but only pay me for the teaching part. Does that sound crazy to you?

after all, the parents didn't sign up for this, right? we were under the impression they would only be around on evenings during weekdays, on weekends and during school breaks. Shouldn't be controversial at all...
