I especially wouldn't pick an Odey fund that was down, uh, 40% since that article was written

Still, I expect the long term performance is good, compounding at a cool [checks notes] negative 5% per year over 10 years?

such a shit argument as well given that all the yooge multi-strats are delivering great returns and are pretty allocator friendly.

Sorry, how do you mean allocator friendly?

Odey's fund range tends to contrast each other though, if one fund tanks another shoots the lights out. I found it weird that everyone focused on him making £150m when brexit killed sterling, but his main fund was down 50%.

FT loves Odey, despite him not actually managing that much money. I think it’s because he loves talking up his own book, or just generally doesn’t mind speaking to the press.

Right? His fund is $120m or something, probably mostly his own money. Complete irrelevance and somehow there are 3-4 articles a year about him.
