Back in my day, real quants with real degrees(not fake bs econ degrees.) would not deflect.

Econ degrees use intuition when numbers are needed & numbers when they need to consider the macro /model related intuition

A brief observation and of course a very general and somewhat varying rule of thumb

econ is indeed a silly and largely pointled field! that doesnt make skew related to the difference in the price of same strike puts and calls
