was 5-10x higher than it is now and there were still many unknowns, and anti-lockdown now that we have vaccines, a low case fatality ratio and a lot more information about how the virus spreads and mutates.

Then why are there lockdowns in Europe still? And no, I don’t think it was necessarily coherent to trash anyone questioning lockdowns before a vaccine. I’m not saying they were right, I am saying the counter view wasn’t tolerated at all.

This is an odd claim to make given that the UK was 2-3 weeks late to go into lockdown in both Q1 and Q4 2020. The counter view was sufficiently tolerated that it delayed the correct course of action for weeks!
