I read the whole thing, and it does actually seem like they didn't give the proper amount of holiday time per UK law... but it's a three day difference and the guy should have figured out he was doing something "wrong" by the third time he got a call asking where he was
Right, in this situation you don't just keep not showing up on the days where they expect you to be working, even if they're in the wrong. You figure out who to talk to to get it resolved.

Maybe this guy tried that and it was completely intractable? But everything else about the blog says "unable to interact normally with normal humans" so I'm inclined to think he made everything as difficult as possible.

Admittedly, he apparently tried, and kept getting the same answer. It should have been apparent that he would need to either drop it or take real action. He got to that point, and decided just to email all the partners directly. I can see why, but also not the right way to do it.
