getting the data team to source the historicals for this one. lots to analyse here — full vs partial eclipse? perigee vs apogee? how does the seasonal cycle interact with the lunar cycle? inquiring minds etc

Those are all of my same concerns and inquiries. Just like astrology and natal charts, the more you unpack the more the story changes and refines. Using only moon phases feels like a very narrow search band.

Trading full & new moons beat B&H on SPX by ~660% from 1950s to middle 2010s; did my thesis on it in school. Indicator works, if done correctly; can prove with garch model that new & full moons are statistically significant trend reversals. Lots of academic papers on this

Lunar cycles change behavior of market participants, physics of how the moon interacts with the water in your body (just like it changes the tides of the oceans); lots of goodies, but most people write it off because ... “astrology” which is just simple and closed minded
