If you convert your salary to Bitcoin immediately after it’s paid to you, you are not “taking your salary in Bitcoin”. I have a plan that automatically buys stocks whenever I get paid, that does not mean I am “paid in $VTI”

If it's a fixed amount of bitcoin, yes. If it's a fixed number of dollars that they convert to bitcoin at market rates before they pay you, no.
