Dune is the proto-Evangelion. The story doesn’t make sense but its cosmic scope and mysticism make it seem really cool.

I’d recommend a re-read. They’re always good for a re-read. There are so many really good interpretations of the character classes but it really takes to the third book to ‘get it’.
At what point would you recommend stopping? It seems clear to me that the books get worse as you get further into the series, but I’m not sure there’s an obvious point to give up. Maybe after God Emperor?

One could stop there or go to all six. I’ve read a few more things in the extended series but nothing I’d wholeheartedly recommend.
