Interviewed at Jane Street for a research role about a decade ago. They said I wouldn’t need to know OCaml. Seemed like I was killing it in interviews w Lehoczky, Minsky, all the big guys. The reason they gave for rejecting was that I failed an OCaml binary tree equality qn 
Once had 4 hours of interviews at Blackrock where 20mins beforehand the zip on my trousers broke. Managed to close it up with tape, but spent the whole interview process worried id flash them. Didn’t get the job, but also pretty sure I didn’t flash them.
interviewers being cagey about "not needing to prepare" is the worst
