Too many managers not enough doctors?

The impression I get from my friends is not enough managers and support.

NHS has difficulty dealing with capacity in normal times, of course Covid has exacerbated it. Its underinvestment over a decade combined with absolutely horrendous administration.

Anecdotal experience of going to an NHS doctor after going to private doctors for years: it sucked (a lot). On the plus side, I didn't died.

Practically every private consultant in the UK is an NHS one as well, they are literally the same people (apart from certain specialities where there is no private market). What's different is number of nurses, midwives and overall resources and support.

Medicine a tough market to make finding: customers (patients) don't exactly know what they need (imagine if govt. agency distributed cars), very fat tails of costs (catastrophic care), smart people (hospitals/docs) ready to soak up any government spending, misaligned incentives.
