At the risk of stating the obvious, a BTC futures etf is gonna widen the basis? Several big players are still not allowed to own spot due to custody issues. Something I’ll be keeping an eye on

CME basis already widened in anticipation of the ETF flows. Front month is trading at a 30% premium at the moment.

Of course basis *everywhere* widened as it always does when BTC goes up a lot. So need to factor that in. But CME basis went up relative to other exchanges.pic.twitter.com/CgJ8dRezEt

Interesting point about the spreads between venues. I think I’m guilty of only looking at Binance/ftx basis because it’s the only thing that I can trade. Which is dumb cos I can still gain info from other venues
