Crazy times. We’ve been remodeling our bathrooms. Hired people to do all the big work but they wanted $2500 to disconnect and reconnect the plumbing for 5 sinks. No new hardware. I think they just make a number based on your house and the cars in the garage. Lol. I did it myself.
Would it surprise you if I said they make up a number based on how many people want plumbing done and how much capacity they have to take on those jobs?

Yes and no. Same company will charge higher prices in our town versus next town over for same job due to higher median income here.
