When I post threads, my phrasing expresses my mental model of the theoretical setting. For example, “posit that the probability of search space regions being subsequently optimal is non-uniform over the weight vector hyperspace of signal allocations”

Similar to the Feynman lectures - a bit tricky for beginners to follow, but an amazing new way of looking at it for someone who is vaguely familiar with the concepts

When I write blog posts etc, I try to do both. On Twitter I heavily skew to simplicity

The Feynman lectures for example, use the simplest language necessary - but without dumbing down or wasting time. That balance is hard. And dependent on the audience. I think the only mistake is not caring. So everyone on this thread has already passed that test 🙏❤️

It’s interesting - I draw the opposite lesson from the Feynman lectures. Language is simple, but the arguments are a little too clever to be useful for a phys 101 course - though they are excellent as review

Yeah that's probably a better take. I approached them after already having studied that stuff.

Like I read you or @HangukQuant or @AgustinLebron3 and go "hell yeah. Totally". And others are just 🤷‍♂️

My take — if you can express the same idea using simpler language, you always should. Keep simplifying until you would lose important detail by going further.

I understand what you mean by “the weight vector hyperspace of signal allocations” but “possible signal weights” says the same thing and is more people will get it.

Thanks for all of the inputs guys! Have watched Feynman clips but never really paid attention to the delivery, maybe its time I pay attention. The votes in + comments appear to suggest I should be simplifying it, and I agree to the good extent.

I just thought that the phrasing revealed important details about how I am thinking about the problem, which led me to consider the algorithms/techniques employed dissecting it. But seems like it is antithetical to the communication if the modelling terminology is not shared.
