Propensity for this language to have 3 ways to do the thing, then randomly deprecate two ways over a period of say 3 years is infuriating. Feature bloat of stats languages like this and R is insane.

this has always been like this and then someone has the bright idea of going clean-slate and “doing it right” from the start, and it seems awesome until people outside of core early adopters start migrating and repeating all the old mistakes. knowing how the code works is a curse
