      Count the # of athletes. USA - 613 Above together - 425+398+376+372+320+121+116+106+92 = 2326. Kind of a no-brainer they won more medals.

      If the USA could send more athletes, by definition they would be sending ones that are worse than they already sent, at best they might scoop a couple more bronzes in the events where they already won gold and silver.

      You’d be surprised. Many athletes that medaled for other countries only did so because they were duel citizens and the US team was already maxed out.
