They would have never had that many athletes qualify. Instead you’d have 2 or 3 per event instead of 15 from random European countries. Much less opportunity for gold!

Yea, but it’s not like those guys who win the qualifiers always win the medals. There’s lots of upsets you wouldn’t be exposed to in a pan-European team!
