It’s amazing that the US is as big and rich as it is, yet manages to be so bad at sports.
Bad at Olympic sports. It's a bit of difference when everyone wants to do the sports that make money instead.

I think that only holds if they only allow 1-2 athletes per country per. As long as it's 3 or more it doesn't hold. Only really team sports like soccer where that would happen.
As a single bloc, they would not be eligible to bring the combined delegation size. In this games US has 615 athletes compared to Great Britain 376, Netherlands 278, France 385 (1,039 total) so it’s not quite a valid comparison.
Why would we want to do that?
