Likely a minor factor, but cases have fallen much faster than tests (30-40% drop from peak vs 5-10%). If asymptomatic testing was responsible for the drop in cases you would need to have seen a huge drop in tests to generate this drop in cases.pic.twitter.com/cbME1H0aaD
The kids are not going to school and getting tests, but they’re also not going to school and mixing with ~30 people every day and then going home to their families, and that seems much more important.

The real test is hospitalisation data, I would expect to see a levelling off and decline in admission numbers 5-7 days from now if the drop in cases is real.

It would be good to see age data behind the tests - how much is decline in adult population vs. routine school testing no longer picking up asymptomatic cases
