A nice mental model in poker is to measure your profits in “Sklansky dollars” instead of real dollars. A Sklansky dollar is the expected value from a play if you knew what every other player held.

yes, but makes it more applicable to the real world. wrt options/investing gets you thinking about distribution of outcomes vs locking your gaze on "______ IS ABSOLUTELY GOING TO HAPPEN"
Sklansky was never designed to be used in game, purely as a post-hoc performance metric (it assumes you know villain’s cards, which obviously you don’t until after the hand)
