I get the feeling a lot of people I normally agree with are really against opening things up in the UK. Surely the point of the vaccine rollout was that we can go to restaurants and bars again, go clubbing, stop wearing masks everywhere? If not now, when?

The UK has a higher % of fully vaxxed people than the US, and a way higher % of people who’ve had one shot. We’re higher on both metrics than most European countries, and still climbing.

There has been a rise in cases but (a) hospitalisations and deaths are way lower than last time (b) it’s pretty clear that our spike is higher than eg the US because we are testing more, and…
