What book would you recommend to a smart 16 year old who wants to learn more about the stock market so they can trade better? I know “just buy index funds” which will obviously be my main advice, but humor me.

Depends on the 16 yr old.. I think Cramer’s books are good for that age. That was one of my first books, “Real Money”

For sure. Been updated a zillion times and very current. Won’t be super basic - Ie it assumes readers know what a stock or bond is - but not much beyond that.

Basically, it will teach them about a lot of market aspects, but still subtly push them towards index funds, your main advice. But if you want something that teaches basic security analysis, this obviously isn’t this.
