In one swoop they:
- forced McKinsey, Bain, BCG, PWC, KPMG & EY to be remote-first or lose all their best people to Deloitte
- established themselves as the best place for consultants to work

There is a large body of talented people who are probably happy to work Deloitte hours but not under office conditions. Eg Most people retire because they want to stop commuting, not because they want to stop work.
Sure, but McKinsey Bain BCG are not interested in hiring any of those people

Idt that's true. From PL/EM up every person I knew hated travel. Only the new undergrad and MBA hires love flying around and expensing meals. The rest want to spend time with their families and see their kids.
