Not financial advice but there's a big arbitrage opportunity here. what you can do is: instead of buying a house today, you can *borrow* a house from someone for a year (pay them in monthly installments), and then buy the house after lumber prices go down.
It's a good idea in theory, but in practice you need to be an institutional client of at least 3-4 prime brokers to get good borrow on houses, and the APIs for locates are clunky and antiquated.
