My only take on high school math is fuck trigonometry — people who get to complex numbers can treat all of trig as a mildly interesting corollary, essentially no one else needs to know it.

Fair point, and also trig is completely unnecessary since dx dy = r dr dϴ is obvious when you consider an infinitesimal element, and the rest is just change of variables and integration by parts.pic.twitter.com/j7E4lRu9Db

True, though a rigorous proof dx dy = r dr dϴ requires trig. Have to take the exterior product of dx and dy (fwiw, think trig can just be taught as needed in classes. For example, just introduced when doing change of variables in calc)
