My only take on high school math is fuck trigonometry — people who get to complex numbers can treat all of trig as a mildly interesting corollary, essentially no one else needs to know it.

You need it for calc. Trig is a hs sophomore course. Why the trig hate???
You absolutely do *not* need trig as a prerequisite for calc. In fact studying trig first makes calc worse because you waste time memorising derivatives and integrals of trig functions, which are trivial corollaries once you know complex numbers.

In application but for calc in a class you'll need to know those. It not fun but what can you do?
