My only take on high school math is fuck trigonometry — people who get to complex numbers can treat all of trig as a mildly interesting corollary, essentially no one else needs to know it.

I used to be a heavy equipment crane operator and even in that instance which is basically a trig problem the crane does all the calcs

In my experience carpenters or builders use pythagorean triples and don't use trig beyond that

Using trig is necessary once you move beyond hanging a damn shelf or anything that you would need a mitre saw for. You all have some real “I’ll hire someone for that” privilege.
