People who are like “uh what about carpenters” — they can learn it in carpentry school if it’s even necessary, which they must already be doing because it is taught so badly in math classes.

I'm fairly passionate about basic probability and stats and also geometry, which is a great visual way to learn logic and concepts of proof etc. But could never see a point of trigonometry for "normal people".

To be fair, prior to things like the standardization of roofs and lots of parts of construction, trig and geometry more broadly was an essential part of the job.

No we should continue learning about the things that are practically useful, build a foundation for further knowledge, give insight, or are beautiful. Trig is none of these.
