Let’s not shy away from the fact that Lily came in for extra criticism because she’s a woman. I see far worse takes from guys with bigger followings every day and they don’t get anywhere near the same volume or the same kind of criticism.
It’s particularly bad when the snipes and insults come from guys who have worked in finance for years and have already built their careers. Have some respect and understanding for someone who is enthusiastic and learning, you fucking assholes.
Massively this. A lot of old dudes forgetting they were precocious assholes with overconfident misinformed views in their twenties.
I get a lot of flack irl for my stuff and it’s fait game. Not everything I do is easy to read or correctly labeled or even outright correctly using data. But I’m amazed of the rage of some people here. Small, big. I’m so happy to learn from “amateurs” like @nope_its_lily

I agree - she was a great asset to the fintwit community, and will be missed. The reasons she feels like she has to stop is unacceptable. Being energetic., smart and willing to put oneself out there to learn are all admirable traits we should encourage.
Nope also has out of sampled even in its most Neanderthal implementation (close to next day open). So it’s not even factually accurate to say she’s a charlatan- if anything she shouldn’t have published the paper or launched the site — it’s underpriced not overpriced
This is definitely one reason why I am quiet on here when it comes to finance/trading.
