Sadly the above tweet is the absolute limit of my CPU knowledge (well, I can probably bullshit my way through L1/L2/L3 cache to someone who knows even less about it than I do...)

I think one of the coolest things I did as an undergrad was the 3rd CS class where we were given a cache and a paging table and a memory address all in hex and we’d have to figure out what the value of it was and where in physical memory it was. I used to be a lot smarter

I read and implemented all of SICP up until the 5th chapter, when they stopped talking about functional programming and started talking about “register machines” or something — seems very theoretical to me, don’t see how you would apply this.
