Because I am a nerd I mapped out which vintages I should be buying now to ensure a reliable supply of good 15-30 year old Bordeaux in the future, and the result is that I need to buy a *lot* more 2005.
Assumption is that 20-25 years is the sweet spot so a lot of 1990-2000 wine will be outside the window soon. More recently you are spoiled for good vintages so don’t need to focus one one year, but 2005 is really the only great vintage in a four year window either side. Stock up!
