I’ve heard that’s true but too young to have experienced it! There was definitely a huge buzz when Pont de la Tour opened which coincided with the development of Canary Wharf as a financial centre and regeneration of docklands/isle of dogs.

But Pont de la Tour is still serving the high end. Big development over 2005-15 was massive improvement in street food and mid range options.
