every once in a while there is some Discourse started On Here about using complicated words/terms/jargon to explain things when it can confuse new people, and usually it comes from the direction of “please communicate in a simpler manner to include new people”.

i think this requires nuance, and a simpler approach is not always better. the value of twitter lies in the knowledge of the users, and that knowledge cannot always be succinctly communicated without jargon.

for instance, it is easy to explain market making as “buy bid sell ask”, but that definition necessarily obscures a lot of stuff that experts would care to talk about (iex d-limit considered harmful).

this tiny thread is to say that i am both waiting for a large build, and to not necessarily always take the approach of catering to the widest possible audience, because there is value to be found in jargon and specificity as well
