"Analysis" is the most chad name for a field of study. Straight up claiming an entire abstract noun as belonging to mathematics. Right up there with "theory".

The most virgin name is "algebra", just inviting every single person to say "Oh, you got a PhD in algebra? You mean like what I did in sixth grade?"

My grandfather (who only went to primary school) saw my 2nd year algebra course on Group & Ring Theory and asked me if it was about fractions. Told him it kinda was.
