my theory is that average video length preference has just dropped precipitously due to availability of addictive low duration content -- such that any 20+ minute low adrenaline content should be in structural decline
It turns out there are only a finite number of interesting ideas that you can condense into fifteen minutes and make accessible to people without any relevant background. They probably exceeded that number by 10-20x
