One unexpected upside of the culture war is that it makes kids more eager to learn. Kids love forbidden knowledge, and this has been growing rapidly as more ideas get banned.

Which ideas are “banned” in your opinion? Serious question. A lot of these “banned” ideas are ones I see discussed incessantly on this website and others.

1/2 "Banned" in this context does not mean "suppressed to total invisibility", but rather "taboo to publicly engage in if you do not want to have a serious problem later, at work, at school, from the police". In Saudi Arabia, that may mean atheism. In the US, well ...

2/2 ... denial of white privilege? Alternative explanations of low number of female programmers? If it will get an otherwise experienced employee fired from NYT or Google, it is taboo enough in my book.

these aren’t banned ideas, they’re just stupid, and people don’t usually engage with them because they’re trivially incorrect

1+1 = 3 would be trivially incorrect, but this level of certainty does not extend beyond the realm of hard sciences. And things like feminist theory or critical race theory aren't even soft sciences. Feynman would have called them cargo cult sciences.
