Anyone remember the Gaecke Quant Report? It was like a 6k per month sub. My boss at my old fund thought it was so amazing. I thought it was complete shit.

The real deal newsletter was in the early 90s called Neuroquant Profiles. It was written by a college kid that had several institutions/funds as clients. Nobody knew it was a kid in school. That kid was hired by Stevie and went on to become the founder of quant trading at SAC
Really interesting profile -- ten years at SAC with what appears to be a lot of success, ten year career gap, then founded a machine learning hedge fund in ~2015, looks like it had some initial success but like a lot of ML funds really struggled in 2020

Yep...he retired from SAC in 05 and enjoyed the fruits of his labor for a decade. Traded his own cap, traveled, etc. Got back in the biz a few yrs back w/ a Bridgewater friend...the fund has had mixed success. I met him in 05 and he became my mentor and one of my closest friends
