What do folks use to look at real interest rates in US? Should be US bond yield - inflation rate, but inflation numbers are quarterly. Would I do 10yr bond yield - 10yr TIPS yield? This may be a very dumb Q

So when ppl say that real rates impact gold, are they referring to TIPS yield? Good pts about the distortions in TIPS, here sadly I will need to stick to data available from my good ole pal st louis FRED tho lol

roughly speaking yes, it is the most observable measure of real yield, but this is all hand wavy
