I even claim that champagne out of a champagne flute doesn’t taste different to a regular or wide brim glass — though it looks prettier and the bubbles last longer in a flute. Tbh if “how long do the bubbles last” is a relevant consideration, you need to drink faster.

I agree that "varietal glasses" are a scam and I just drink from universal glasses 90% of the time, but there are definitely cases where high ABV vs. low ABV wines matter.
