This is really interesting. I had a very similar experience with everyone assuming I was an introvert. Maybe not the whole life, but definitely for probably 20 years, since I started doing maths at school. Is this just an automatic stereotype because of maths?

Don't we all :) it's a long process!
The whole introvert/extrovert simplification has caused a ton of needless harm. Like, I enjoy going to parties and talking to strangers, I don’t find it draining. I also need time to sit by myself and read or whatever to recharge. You don’t have to be one or the other!

totally agreed, but i think its a useful conversational shorthand. before covid, had you asked me my ideal work environment, i would have said something akin to my current setup. BUT ITS SO LONELY
