Question for Fintwit "quants": Can you come up with an unsupervised algo, a Bayesian scheme, or a recommendation algo whose output would be a list of targetable stocks by WSB based on WSB posts (Reddit's API). In a Bayesian setting, for instance, a prior could be "short float".
My point is that absolutely nothing in any of those posts gives any idea that silver would be a pump target. The only way you could figure that out was by reading r/wsb *which is exactly what I said in my first comment in this thread*

This entire conversation is an incredible example of hindsight bias on your part.

you're misunderstanding my point, i'm trying to propose a framework for understanding meme propagation not suggesting that
@nope_its_lily 's model (which doesn't really exist yet) predicted silver. but you can see that the thought process is an extension of the GME trade - Show replies

well first of all the premise of the SLV position is directly related to the GME one. ( interestingly ... this article has just been removed by moderators) https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/l68ill/the_biggest_short_squeeze_in_the_world_slv_silver/ …

You are literally making my point for me by linking to a wsb post that was made *before* the idea of pumping silver took hold (this was literally the post that made me aware that SLV was a pump target). I though the idea was to predict the targets *ahead* of appearing on wsb?
